1 Egg
3/4 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Flour
1 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Salt

1 tsp Vanilla or grated rind of 1 orange

Quick, easy, and a year round delight!

Gradually beat in sugar until mixture is thick and pale. (This
beating is very important to prevent sugariness.) Mix flour, baking
powder, salt, and gently fold into egg mixture. Stir in apples,
walnuts and vanilla. Generously butter an 8 inch square pan, pour in
batter. Bake in 350 F oven 35-40 minutes or until top is golden brown
and crunchy. Serve warm. Serves 6.
