Ingredients:
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Shortening
1 cup Molasses dark, plus
3 tbsp Molasses dark
3/4 cup -warm water
1 Egg
3 tsp Baking soda, add to water
1 tsp Salt
2 tsp Ginger
2 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Cloves
Instructions:
Cream sugar and shortening, add molasses, then water, egg and
remaining ingredients. Add enough flour to make a nice thick dough.
Chill several hours or overnite. Roll out and cut into 3" rounds.
Bake at 400 for 8 min. or till done. Sprinkle with sugar. Lorna
